Admin Assistant I

Your key responsibilities include:
This position will serve as the University liaison between UCCS and Army ROTC Cadet Command personnel assigned to the campus. Under direct supervision, this position will conduct university administrative activities and assist with coordination between the department and other university entities. Assist other departmental workers with other administrative duties for the department as needed.
Event coordination (8-10 events annually). Under direct supervision this position will work with campus scheduling, this includes scheduling space of club fairs, recruiting booth space, labs held on campus. Other events include the Fall Dining In, and the Spring Ball, as well as commissioning ceremonies and award ceremonies. Assist in the coordination of any other departmental events as needed
This position will coordinate with other campus elements external to the department to maintain open lines of communication and good visibility for the department on campus. This includes coordination with student club and alumni activities for alumni newsletter publication and distribution.
This position maintains purchase card according to state and university spending guidelines. Under supervision, tracks department university budget on a weekly and monthly basis. Attend departmental meetings with Military Science Staff to maintain awareness of departmental activities. Maintain minutes for the meetings.
Using established work processes, duties include timely completion of processing of documents and information, information release to and communications with external constituents. Duties also include administrative support to the department head, including maintaining his calendar. Duties also include administrative support to Military Science department personnel as needed. Familiarity with campus offices and procedures to enable correct decisions about how to accomplish administrative tasks. Within guidelines, assist with maintenance of web page and social media (Facebook) as needed.
What we require:
Must be a Colorado resident to apply.
One year of full-time equivalent general clerical or administrative experience.
Thirty (30) semester hours may substitute for one year of the required experience.

- Public speaking to include the ability to conduct a presentation to a small group (10 or less)
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
What we'd like you to have:
- Additional years of administrative support experience in a professional office environment
- Some Military experience
- Experience with Travel and Expense software and reporting
- One year higher education experience
