Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The facility coordinator provides on-site supervision to all campus recreation facilities which include Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center, Blatt Physical Education Center, Blossom Street Tennis Courts, Wheat Street Tennis Courts, Alpine Tower/Challenge Course, and recreation fields. Event setup and management for intramural sports, sport club activities, unstructured recreation and special events are a responsibility of this role. This position assists the assistant director for facilities in the management of over 200 student employees including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

High school diploma and 6 years related experience.

This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies. In addition, this position requires a variable work schedule which may include early mornings or evenings, as well as weekends and nights, and the ability to attend on and off campus events.

Must possess a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification or acquire one prior to hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Recreation, Sport Management, PE or related field of study with two years recreational/ fitness facility experience.


Experience in supervision of student employees, athletic equipment set up and operation, facility supervision, and operation of automated security/access systems is highly desirable.
