The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and the College of Pharmacy is seeking an open-rank faculty member with expertise in the area of policy, advocacy, public health, outcomes, and advanced clinical pharmacy practice. With the need to further advance pharmacy practice in the Commonwealth and engage pharmacists in advocacy and development of policies for public health, the College of Pharmacy seeks a faculty member with expertise in these areas. These needs are evident in both the professional and graduate program of the College. Hence, a faculty member with this expertise is required for advancement in the education, service, and scholarly activities of the College.

This faculty member will also contribute to meeting the need for professional and graduate instruction in the areas of policy, advocacy, public health, service, and leadership, and will be involved in the development of a research program with a scholarly focus in the areas of policy/advocacy, public health, and outcomes. In addition, this individual will serve as the Director of Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice (CAPP) within the College of Pharmacy. The faculty member reports to the Chairperson of the Pharmacy Practice and Science Department and the Senior Associate Dean as the CAPP Director.

The faculty member will contribute to courses within the pharmacy professional program curriculum and graduate education pertaining to policy, public health, and outcomes, develop and establish a research program in policy/advocacy, public health, and outcomes, undertake scholarly activities related to policy/advocacy, outcomes and public health issues, and publish on these activities within peer-reviewed journals. In addition, this position will work with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science in a variety of academic assignments related to scholarship and service, and serve on College and University Committees as assigned by the Dean and/or Department Chair. As Director of the Center for Advancement of Pharmacy Practice (CAPP), the faculty member will lead efforts within the College pertaining to advancing the practice of pharmacy throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
