Essential functions of this position:
The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator for Cultural Enrichment Programming is to assist the director in the management of the center, provide input in program planning, implement these programs and provide administrative support to complete all the transactions needed to bring to a successful completion. The position functions like an assistant to the director and has some independence to discharge duties related to the programming and management of the center daily operations, supervising student workers, etc. The position requires specialized knowledge, would have some authority with regard to program implementation and oversight while continuing to discharge administrative support for the director. The position also interacts with students, faculty, staff and community members and as such has customer service functions and responsibilities. This position is also unique in that it will advise student organizations, interact with students. This position is responsible for providing support for the efficient use of technology and the Internet presence of the center and the creation of marketing materials both digital and print.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program management, event management, graphic design
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Master’s degree, preferably in Higher Education, college student personnel, counseling, Technology, African American Studies, or related field
Working knowledge of Marketing, Graphic Design, social media; detailed knowledge of program/event resources on the campus of UNCW
Working knowledge of African American/African Art; working knowledge of racial identity theory, culture center in higher education and best practices in programming
Recruitment Range: $28,713 - $32,551
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 65
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday, occasional weekend and nights
Work Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, some evenings
