Information Technology Engineer
A strong background in Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Server 2016 / 2012 / 2008 as well as Windows Small Business Server 2011 / 2008 is required. Also required is a solid understanding of Virtual Server technology as well as in-depth knowledge of Exchange 2016 / 2013 / 2010 / 2007. Familiarity with Office 365 and Microsoft Azure a plus. The position also requires a minimum of 3 years of active field experience and various Microsoft Certifications.
The technician will perform a variety of technical tasks, including but not limited to Server and workstation installs. Familiarity with Firewalls, Routers and other networking devices is required. VOIP phone system installations and support including network infrastructure to support (VLAN's, QOS, etc.) They also must possess the ability to diagnose, repair and service all components in a small to medium business computer environment. Experience with software applications commonly found on servers and workstations, as well as the ability to troubleshoot the same is desired.

** The ideal candidate would hold a Windows Server 2016 or 2012 MCSE / MCSA. If not a 2016 or 2012 MCSE / MCSA, than a MCITP Enterprise Administrator / Server Administrator certification. Applicant should hold a minimum of a MTA / MCTS

TAB Computer Systems, Inc., an established IT service and support company, has been providing technology assistance and solutions to small and medium sized businesses in the Greater Hartford, CT area for over 30 years. TAB maintains a business casual atmosphere with approximately 35 full and part-time employees. TAB is a Partner with Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, Efolder, StorageCraft, ProofPoint and many more. TAB also builds and maintains their own custom line of Intel based servers and workstations.
TAB is a ConnectWise partner, utilizing the entire ConnectWise suite of programs as well as Internal and External API feeds. As such, the position requires that the technician maintain accurate 'tickets' on the repair, installation and removal of equipment and provide appropriate logging of these activities. All time spent during the workday will be posted in the field via WiFi Hotspot and Internet access. The technician is also required to complete tracking sheets for inbound hardware as well as 'RMA' tickets for defective parts. Almost all documentation is in electronic form, including schedule data that interfaces directly with MS Outlook and any paper forms stored as PDF's.

Although TAB maintains a 24x7 presence there is generally little overtime, weekend and 'on-call' work. TAB technicians work directly one-on-one with the client, providing installation and follow up to their IT needs. Patience is a must with the ability to maintain a professional attitude while handling issues as they present themselves.
