UNT competes as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and C-USA. North Texas' athletic programs are classified as NCAA Division I, the largest and highest division among all colleges and universities. The 46,000 square-foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Athletics strives to conduct a competitive athletics program that promotes faculty, staff, student and community affiliation and participation with North Texas Athletics. Also, to provide facilities which attract the highest level of talent and allow student athletes to perform at the highest level in practice and in competition.

Job Description
The Athletics Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Assistant Director for sports information to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

This position is responsible for developing promotional and publicity strategies for the University of North Texas Athletics department through comprehensive communications plans, including but not limited to: digital and social media content; official athletics website content and traditional media relationship cultivation.

* Develops communications strategies to increase visibility and enhance the image of North Texas Athletics coaches, student-athletes and administrators.
* Develops and maintains relationships with local, regional and national media.
* Produces digital and written content, including press releases, feature stories, promotional materials, player and coach bios and fact and records books.
* Develops and implements social media strategies.
* Organizes and manages game-day media operations.
* Maintains historical and statistical information.
* Serves as main point of contact for media outlets for assigned sports.
* Travels with assigned teams as needed; responsible for oversight of game day press box and staffing for designated sports.
* Responsible for all media functions surrounding championships and post-season competition.
* Assists with other duties in sports information, communications, and public relations as needed for all sports and departments.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Master's Degree.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAAA rules and regulations.
