Position Summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator for the Global Academy's Graduate Pathways program. This 12-month exempt (EHRA) position will oversee an academic English program designed for qualified international students with conditional admission to the Graduate School at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for program administrative management, and has instructional and advising responsibilities. The key responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include:

  • Managing program operation logistics (e.g. scheduling, budget management, etc.)
  • Planning for program-related events in collaboration with other campus units (e.g. welcome event; exit celebration; other campus and local international events; etc.)
  • Coordinating curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities in collaboration with other campus units
  • Supporting the recruitment, retention, and assessment efforts of the program
  • Advising prospective and current students in the program
  • Committing to 12 hours of advising/instructional time per week
  • Assisting with the placement and supervision of TESOL program internship

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in TESOL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics or related fields
  • At least 3 years of working experiences with international students in higher education settings
  • At least 3 years of teaching experiences in related fields and settings
  • Proven expertise and experiences in program development, project management, event planning and coordination, and budget management
  • Outstanding professional, cross-cultural communication, and inter-personal skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with U.S. and foreign government agencies and related organizations regarding international education;
  • A record of active participation in appropriate organizations (such as NAFSA, EAIE, and their state and regional affiliates)
