The Education Abroad Advisor and Scholarships Coordinator (Education Abroad Specialist) manages student applications as well as assists with promotion and outreach, and credit transfer, etc. The Education Abroad Advisor and Scholarships Coordinator will have an understanding the educational opportunities available to UK students within our strategic portfolio of programs and must know the details of the programs, including application procedures and deadlines. Specifically, this position will serve as the liaison to the healthcare colleges, advise healthcare students, residents and GMEs. Ideally, the successful candidate will have familiarity with global healthcare programs, international clinical rotations, systems of higher education, culture, health and safety issues. The Education Abroad Advisor and Scholarships Coordinator must commit to understanding curricula and policies at UK and liaise with key faculty and relevant offices such as Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Career Center, and college advising units.
The Education Abroad Advisor and Scholarships Coordinator also specializes in one strategically important goal of the office, and this position will manage our comprehensive Education Abroad scholarships portfolio. UK EA manages over $500K in scholarships annually and this position will be responsible for supporting scholarship promotion activities, overseeing the scholarship applications and awarding processes. This includes stewarding the scholarship review committees, engaging college contacts and liaising with Financial Aid, Philanthropy, Scholarships and other campus partners dedicated to supporting students' financial wellness.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Successful candidates will have international education experience, experience working with faculty, experience working with budgets, and familiarity with education abroad application management. Candidates must have successful promotion and outreach experience, which includes excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, time management and a high degree of professionalism. Advising experience in healthcare-related disciplines, international rotations, is desired, but not required. Familiarity with Terra Dotta software is also desirable.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree and two years' experience (or equivalent) is required. Experience in education abroad or international education experience is preferred. Experience with international health care rotations is preferred.
