Job Description:

The Associate Dean for Orlando/Lake Nona (AD-LN) will serve as the academic and administrative leader of the UF College of Pharmacy’s Orlando campus at the UF Research and Academic Center (RAC) in Lake Nona, serving both internal and external constituencies. This includes on-campus leadership for the execution of the Doctor of Pharmacy program in Orlando and related student and teaching activities, facilitating research and graduate education at the UF RAC, providing leadership and guidance for the Lake Nona Center for Quality Medication Management, and interaction with others located at the UF RAC. The AD-LN will also be expected to provide visionary leadership regarding collaboration and other opportunities for the college and its faculty and students in Lake Nona and more broadly across Orlando. The AD-LN will report to the Dean and will serve on the college’s Executive Committee. 

Leadership Responsibilities
The AD-LN will provide leadership in various areas including, but not limited to: a) the PharmD program: general oversight of the PharmD program in Orlando , including the teaching by faculty, PharmD students, and their education, recruitment and retention activities for PharmD students, working closely with relevant deans on other campuses, supervision of the Assistant Dean and LN educational staff, among others; b) research and graduate education:  facilitate enhanced research including grant submissions, collaborative research opportunities, space management, identifying staff support needs, on-sight supervision of college-level staff in the shared services center and IT group, ensuring compliance with UF policies and procedures for research, among other duties; c) provide leadership, support and guidance as needed for the Lake Nona branch of the UF COP Center for Quality Medication Management; d) create a collaborative and collegial environment with College of Medicine faculty and others located at the UF RAC; e) explore, seek out and advance collaborative and other opportunities for UF faculty and staff in Lake Nona and Orlando, and serve as the official UF College of Pharmacy spokesperson with these constituencies.  

The position is a full-time tenure-track appointment at the minimum rank of Associate Professor, with administrative effort expected to be 0.5 FTE and the remainder of the appointment comprising teaching and research effort.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Pharm.D. or Ph.D. degree or similar

2. Accomplishments in teaching, research, and service consistent with appointment as an Associate or Full Professor

3. Commitment to a culture of diversity and inclusion

4. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy education and research

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

7. Experience in establishing and maintaining rapport with faculty, staff, and students

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Eligible for consideration of tenure on hire based on previous receipt of tenure at a peer institution, along with an outstanding scholarly record 

2. Previous academic leadership
