JOB SUMMARY:


Manages all aspects of the day to day financial operations of the Clemson University Foundation. As Advancement Division Business Officer, directs budget development and financial management. Manages allocation of State and private dollars to ensure resources are available. Plays a key role in the establishment and monitoring of the Foundation's overall budget, cash management, procurement and in establishing operating policies. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


40% - Essential - Financial operational management and planning - Responsible for managing financial operations and cash management for the Foundation including direct staff supervision in these areas. In coordination with CFO, establishes and implements financial management policies and procedures for the Foundation and ensures compliance.
Collaborate with investment staff in research, analysis and due diligence related to the investment portfolio and in making certain endowment spendable return is appropriately distributed and funds usage is monitored.

40% - Essential - Budgeting - Prepares and directs budgeting and implementation of budgets for the Clemson University Division of Advancement and the CUF operating budget. Oversight responsibility for budget reporting and trends for Development and the Foundation, including communication and resolution of variance issues that arise. Responsible for working directly with the University's budget office in required reporting, including determination of allocation of state funding provided to development and the Foundation.

10% - Essential - Procurement and expenditures - Responsible for ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures, including those required by the University (e.g. buyWays) and the Foundation with a focus on budget availability, approvals, and other controls. Primary responsibility for Foundation's corporate credit card, including establishing policies and procedures that ensure appropriate controls and oversight/approvals are in place. Continuous focus on identification and implementation of efficiencies and cost savings initiatives and efficiencies.

10% - Essential - Other duties - Works directly with Accounting for Related Organizations Office on accounting and reporting issues, including those related to the Foundation's annual audit. Responsible for gathering and providing financial information related to the preparation of the annual informational return for the IRS, including monitoring Unrelated Business Taxable Income from alternative investment partnerships.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree with accounting courses and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, banking or finance
