The position is responsible for leading the internal strategic communications function within the University and will actively participate and support the leadership team by developing quality communications for internal stakeholders and departments. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and Communications but work closely with the functional leaders across the university. In addition, this position will also manage the alignment of internal communications and messaging with the brand platform.

  • Implements coordinated communications and provide oversight of all internal communications to ensure consistency of messaging and alignment with defined objectives
  • Supports and drives a consistent messaging platform across all stakeholder initiatives and materials
  • Develops content strategy and leads the Communications Integration Team (CIT) to implement and produce content to align with organizational goals across communications channels
  • Supports executive management by drafting and/or editing communications as needed
  • Leads a team responsible to create content to support internal communications including: newsletters, presentations, website and publications (including the Chamberlain Magazine)
  • Conducts ongoing and annual assessments of communications effectiveness as it relates to brand reputation, awareness, and achieving marketing goals
  • Responsible for identifying trends and new developments that impact strategic communication plans
  • Actively protects organizational reputation/student experience through sound media monitoring and proactive messaging and responses
  • Develops a comprehensive university internal communications plan
  • Collaborates with our parent company, Adtalem Global Education, external relations team to share institutional updates and content
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, media relations, journalism or a related field
  • 7 – 10 years' experience in corporate communication, branding, or marketing including 5 years minimum leadership/management experience
  • Experienced in internal/corporate communications
  • Must be able to collaborate with a variety of colleagues across the organization
  • Strong organizational, logistical and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining work quality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and constituencies
  • Demonstrated strategic & critical thinking ability
  • Must possess exceptional business writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Digital communications experience preferred (email, website, content, and blog)
  • Strong management, coaching and leadership skills
