FT Admin - Student Engagement Coordinator
Student Engagement Coordinators report to the Associate Dean of Academic & Career Pathways and are charged with developing and implementing a plan that engages current and prospective students, parents, community members, and in-and-out-of-district high schools with LCC through individual success sessions, attendance at enrollment fairs and events, hosting college events including but not limited to College Night, Influencers, workshops, open houses, and STARientation, representation of the college at community events, direct collaboration with high-school counselors and administration, onboarding of new students, and cohort management of specific students.
The Student Engagement Coordinators will recruit high school students in mid-Michigan and develop and maintain contact with various organizations throughout the district to recruit prospective students for admission. They are charged with cultivating relationships and educating external constituents at middle schools, high schools, adult & alternative education programs, career centers, community agencies, and other market segment appropriate venues. They will also represent the College at recruitment and community events and conduct group presentations.
They have responsibilities for establishing, coordinating, and implementing college recruitment and enrollment related programs designed to facilitate a student-centered approach to service. Plan, direct, and manage off-campus enrollment and recruitment programs and on-campus events in collaboration with other departments, programs, and organizations to provide high-quality on-site student services. Student Engagement Coordinators will also work collaboratively with other departments to eliminate barriers for students and advocate on behalf of their students.
The Student Engagement Coordinators will have specific focuses on developing plans and coordinating with high school counselors and administrators on creating a college-going culture that assists prospective students with being college-ready both academically and socially. The Student Engagement Coordinators will build community engagement platforms, customize and develop events that result in increased enrollment and awareness, develop student programming and participate in speaking events on behalf of the college, and working with niche groups at the college on successful completion of their certificates and/or degrees.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communication, Business, Marketing, Education or related field required.
Two or more years of relevant and progressive recruitment, marketing or student affairs related experience with college bound students required.
Experience with networking and cultivating relationships within a diverse community.
Demonstrated experience in presentation and public speaking, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and/or projects from start through successful completion.
Organizational, planning, prioritization of tasks, communication, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Windows-based, MAC-based, web-based, and college computer system skills.
Ability to travel and valid driver’s license required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
