Accounts Clerk I

Description/Job Summary
Overview of position:
1.Verifies and posts daily details of all monetary transactions, such as funds received and disbursed for the College. Tasks also include updating journals, check ledgers, transmittals, request for transcripts, WBJC revenue, Bookstore revenue, other revenues, expenses paid to the college
2.Distributes various checks from the Business Office for Working Fund, Emergency Loan, Payroll, and Scholarships Funds
3.Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices and /or financial information using data from daily deposits, petty cash, Students' club and parking documentation in preparation of monthly reports
4.Selling and collecting payments for bus pass transactions
5.Use of various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate, and/or format data
6.Answers incoming calls and provides routine information in response to inquiries
7.Provides information to Faculty, Staff, Students, and individuals or organizations outside of the College within the policy of College and State laws
Employees in this classification receive supervision from the Assistant Bursar or Bursar or designee
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of (2) years of cashiering experience

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • (3) years' experience preferred
