Primary Function of Organization Unit: We are searching for a Program Administrator for our interdisciplinary graduate program in "Genetic Engineering and Society: The case of transgenic pests". The program is funded by the National Science Foundation for five years through its Integrative Graduate Education Research Traineeships program (IGERT). The program includes PhD graduate students from Biological and Social Sciences as well as from the Humanities. The program includes international internships for students.

Essential Job Duties: The Program Administrator is responsible for the day to day operation for our interdisciplinary graduate program in "Genetic Engineering and Society: The case of transgenic pests" under the supervision of the program director. The Program Administrator is in charge of logistical and financial arrangements for students and faculty in the program, planning events, website maintenance, and student recruiting and placement. *This position is time-limited for 1 year.*

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Computer technology skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Bachelors or Masters degree. * Experience in coordinating similar programs. * International program experience. * Fluent in Spanish. * General knowledge of biological and social sciences.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: * A valid drivers license is required for travel. NC drivers license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
