Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate is expected to have exceptional potential to establish a strong research program in a biomedical engineering specialty, and must demonstrate outstanding teaching ability.
For a tenured position, candidates should have the following:
- At least 6 years in a university faculty position or government or industrial research position;
- Demonstrated track record of national leadership in biomedical engineering, with academic
accomplishments as a scholar and teacher that meet the standards for a tenured appointment
in the Biomedical Engineering Department.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applicants for a tenured faculty position beginning January 1, 2018 or later to complement our existing research programs.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering at UW-Madison enrolls approximately 200 undergraduate students and 100 MS and PhD graduate students from all over the world. The Department has 17 Primary Faculty, 50 Affiliate Faculty, 3 Emeritus Faculty, 30 Academic Staff, and 3 Classified Staff, with state expenditures exceeding 2 million annually and research expenditures exceeding 20 million annually.
