Summary of Job Duties
The Assistant Director of Communications reports to the Director of Membership & Marketing and collaborates with Alumni Association staff in executing strategic messaging and communication plans for promoting the Alumni Association's programs, services and membership; oversees content for the alumni app; coordinates electronic and print communications including proofreading, scheduling, maintaining a calendar of all e-mail blasts and creating templates for e-mail blasts and e-newsletters; and creates content for the magazine including occasionally writing feature stories. This position implements new templates for chapters, societies, campus partners, and over-all association marketing as necessary, working closely with the Marketing Specialist.
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- Bachelor's degree in a communications-related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least three years of experience in creation, design and implementation of print, electronic and social media
- Demonstrated writing and editing skills as evident in application materials provided
