Position Summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks to fill a tenure track position in Asian Religions at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2018. The position carries with it broad teaching responsibilities including courses in Asian religions (capability to teach Buddhism required, to teach Japanese and Chinese Religions and/or Hinduism desirable). Standard load is five courses per year. The department is looking for a person with commitment to active research and undergraduate teaching in the tradition of the liberal arts. The field of research specialization within Asian religions is open. Candidates should have an interest in contributing to key College and University programs (Freshmen Seminar, Honors, International Programs and the Residential Colleges) and in active engagement with students and colleagues both in and out of the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold or anticipate a Ph.D. in Religious Studies or a related discipline by August 1, 2018.
