Position Summary

The School of Nursing has academic, research, and service programs with a dean, 3 associate deans, 2 department chairs and program directors providing oversight of all programs and activities. Community based programs are used for research, student learning experiences, and to meet needs of the community. The UNCG Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Nurse Anesthesia concentration provides education and training of student registered nurse anesthetists. CRNAs that practice in a variety of health care settings. Outcomes should assist in increasing the employment among nurses and increase the access to care for the community. This position supports the enrollment increase and academic program faculty and students to implement and evaluate the program. The position will support the SON outreach for DNP distance programs and include recruitment and retention of students.

The School of Nursing is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Program Specialist.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Program Specialist of the CRNA concentration. The project specialist is primarily responsible for the day to day coordination of the office activities and assisting the Concentration Director, DNP director and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs with implementation and evaluation activities. In addition, the program specialist will assist with scheduling and calendaring activities including recruitment and meetings, coordination of work with faculty, data storage and security backup, assisting faculty in accurate, timely and efficient curriculum, course scheduling activities, assisting in student admission and advisement, confidential records and budget management. The position serves as primary assistant to Nurse Anesthesia concentration of the DNP program with multiple communications, relationships, skills, and activities required. The person in this position must be able to work independently, with little or no direct supervision, and in collaboration with multiple community constituencies and stakeholders, including community agency personnel, faculty, students, staff, other campus entities and offices, clinical agency representatives, and SON staff and administrators. The person is expected to use considerable judgment and skills to perform work responsibilities. Effort will include responsibility for student records, financial record keeping, reconciliation, revisions, managing and tracking expenditures; PCard management; assisting with HR hiring matters; assisting with payroll forms and systems; accreditation and curriculum reports; and assisting with writing and submission of other reports as requested. The position serves as primary program contact for the DNP nurse anesthesia concentration. Person is expected to manage expenditures and assist with coordinating day to day program office activities. Confidentiality, attention to detail in work, promptness, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural sensitivity and exemplary attendance are key for this position. Currently, this position will be located 50% of the time at the RSNA location in Raleigh and 50% at the Union Square campus in Greensboro. In the future, the position will be fully based at the Union Square campus in Greensboro.
