Assistant Professor of Social Psychology, Department of Psychological Science

The Department of Psychological Science at the University of Vermont invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Social Psychology at the Assistant Professor level, to begin August 2018. Candidates should have an established program of independent research in social psychological science. We are especially interested in candidates who take a theory-driven approach to the scientific study of socially significant issues, such as intergroup processes and/or sustainability. Applicants must have a doctorate in social psychology from an APA approved program, a strong record of publications, the potential to secure extramural funding, and evidence of excellence in teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) undertake an active program of research that leads to publication and presentation in peer-reviewed scholarly outlets; 2) seek extramural funding for that research; 3) teach courses as needed by the department, such as undergraduate and graduate courses on social cognition, intergroup processes, and research methods; and 3) mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research.
