Note: Not all unique aspects of the job are covered by this job description The mission of Stanford's Department of Bioengineering is to create a fusion of engineering and the life sciences that promote scientific discovery and the development of new biomedical technologies and therapies through research and education. The Department of Bioengineering is jointly supported by the Schools of Medicine and Engineering. It includes, in a single department, research and teaching programs that embrace biology as a new engineering paradigm and apply engineering principles to medical problems and biological systems. This is a 100% FTE position. The majority of this position will involve faculty affairs for the Department; in addition, one-third of the position will support the launch and administration for our new Bioengineering Partners Program. This program, similar to an industrial affiliates program, aims to connect Bioengineering faculty and students with other Bioengineering partners (industry, government, non-profit).
JOB PURPOSE: Provide analysis and guidance within the school or department regarding faculty and academic staff appointments, reappointments, promotions, and the search process. Ensure compliance with school and university policies.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience working with administrative processes, or combination of education and relevant experience.
