In this newly created position and reporting to the CFO, the Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR) will be an active and contributing member of the President’s Cabinet. The VPHR will be responsible for leading the development of a University-wide human resources (HR) philosophy, strategic plan, and operational objectives in relation to programs and initiatives that align with the University’s strategic objectives. Over time, the VPHR will be expected to structure, build, and lead a department to support multiple HR functional areas including, but not necessarily limited to: human capital planning, recruiting, development, and retention; employee relations and welfare; and benefits and payroll. The VPHR will also function as an internal consultant and partner to all University leadership and management personnel.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative, human capital strategist and an entrepreneurial leader who is comfortable using change to advance the University. With successful HR business partner experience, this well-rounded HR generalist will have the ability to attract, develop and retain talent; establish workplace systems and procedures; manage legal, regulatory, and compliance issues; and remain flexible and nimble in a fast-pace changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with a passion and enthusiasm for the University’s vision and mission. A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred. Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a base salary and competitive benefits package.
