The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream position in the area of Social Work - Gerontology (Life Course & Aging) at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin July 1, 2018.
Candidates are expected to have a program of research and experience especially focused in direct practice; candidates with research in policy and/or community engagement may also be considered. Particular areas for which we are looking include but are not limited to: gerontology, human development and equity across the life course (children, families, and older adults).
Candidates must have a PhD in social work or a related field by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. He/She must also show evidence of excellence in research as demonstrated by an active research program that contributes especially to social work practice and policy; social work practice experience; an emerging reputation in research with demonstrated ability to attract external research funding; publications in high quality peer reviewed journals or a research pipeline that is at high international levels; and strong endorsements by referees of high international standing. Evidence of excellence in teaching is also required as demonstrated by the teaching dossier outlining experience and accomplishments, the teaching statement, and strong letters of reference. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
