Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's Degree required; preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care Administration or closely related field. Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible professional experience in a university or physician group practice setting with budget planning and preparation, business operations and financial management, automated financial systems, financial report analysis and preparation and supervision of a financial operation. The position requires constant application of the principles of operational efficiency, cost containment, human resource management/supervision and process improvement strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven team building success resulting in creating a positive culture, initiative, organization, management, decision-making ability and communication skills. Strong business relationships with physicians and ability to work in a team environment are mandatory for success. The candidate is expected to model and instill in others a high degree of professionalism, which includes demonstrating honesty, integrity, accountability and a commitment to the health and well-being of our patients in all work interactions and responsibilities. Experience in an academic medical environment, where several programmatic and budgetary processes co-exist, and interaction and experience in various financial settings (i.e., healthcare financing, public accounting firm, corporate or business accounting) is highly desirable.

Position Summary:

The Department of Radiology has an opening for an Associate Director that will provide overall budgetary, financial and administrative leadership and support for the Department of Radiology's clinical, education, research, and community outreach mission under the direction of the Department Administrator/Director of Business Services, Vice Chair of Finance and Business Development, and the Chair. The programmatic functions within the Department are absolutely dependent on appropriate and accurate budgetary management of multiple funding sources. The position entails a high level of complexity requiring in depth knowledge of day-to-day operations, effective data mining and perceptive analysis that mandates a high level of initiative and personal responsibility.
