Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience required. Preferred experience in public relations, marketing, branding, communications, strategic planning, and personnel management. Well qualified applicants will have: strong leadership skills, strong problem solving, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, highly self-motivated and directed, keen attention to detail, and exceptional customer service (end user) orientation.
Successful candidates must have strong interpersonal relational skills, be highly collaborative and possess the ability to work in an agile environment.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Communication, Facilities and Technology/Chief Communication Officer, the Director is responsible to plan, direct, manage and supervise the marketing and communication activities of the Office of Integrated Marketing and Communication (IMC) for the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) with accountability and responsibility associated with the operations. These operations include developing strategic integrated marketing communications plans and managing execution for paid media (advertising), earned media (public relations), and owned media (social media and content marketing), in addition to supervising day-to-day operations and providing direction to IMC staff.
