Applications are invited for a full-time teaching professional at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Assistant Professor-of-the-Practice. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or have an M.S. degree with considerable experience. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate education; the ability to teach core computer science courses such as CS 1 and CS 2 is essential. Emphasis for this position is in computer science education, including curriculum development, learning and teaching method design and implementation, and student engagement outside the classroom. This non-tenure track faculty position is a full-time, nine-month appointment beginning for the 2018-2019 academic year and provides full benefits. Contracts are generally multi-year and renewable.

The Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University is home to computer science BS, BA, MS, and minor programs. There are 11 full-time faculty members in the department. Existing research and educational programs are in the areas of network security, computing for persons with disabilities, imaging, mobile computing, computational biophysics, HPC education, digital media, databases/big data, and GPU computing. The Department prides itself on engaging undergraduate and graduate students in and out of the classroom, providing opportunities for students to work closely with faculty members in their scholarship and research.
