Support the department business office by placing departmental orders for supplies; preparing and processing PRD's and shopping carts; assigning and maintaining financial control numbers. Oversee ordering and receipt of supplies/chemicals for research laboratories. Considered the primary support for the Department Chair and the Director of Graduate Studies. For the Director of Graduate Studies, this position will coordinate recruitment efforts to include handling of e-mail inquiries, follow-up with potential students, assist with management of graduate school applications and prospective student visits. Provide support for graduate student academic functions and graduate student association activities. Independently coordinate the summer REU program. Reconcile cost centers and prepare reports related to the REU program. Assist faculty and staff in organization and execution of department events including seminars, alumni events and industrial interactions. Work with the College of Engineering Department of Communications.
