Reporting directly to the Regional Dean & CEO, the Director of Business Development -Talent & Enterprise Solutions serves as a member of the campus leadership team by managing the work of team members who interact with external corporate clients, prospective students, vendors and partners.
S/he will manage a group of contracted Talent Development Consultants comprised of senior level executives from industries and corporations. Position will direct efforts toward achieving goals of identifying and securing enterprise partnerships that result in revenue generation, new academic curriculum, opportunities for faculty to engage in research and deep exploration with corporations and organizations. Individual will lead contract Talent Development Consultants in identifying and understanding potential solutions for corporate clientele and manage contractors toward achieving consultancy goals. S/he will deploy contracted Consultants by geographic territory or sector to optimize results for enterprise partnerships and may also manage and be responsible for an assigned territory. Responsible for managing team toward aggressive results and developing appropriate metrics and monitoring protocols.
Director of Business Development -Talent & Enterprise Solutions will work closely with the CEO & Regional Dean, Communications Manager, and outsourced PR firm to brand the university as an enterprise resource and a trusted academic resource throughout the region. Will provide leadership and guidance for locally based Assistant Director of Admissions position(s), ensuring outreach and outcomes are achieved in support of campus and university goals.
S/he will collaborate with the Associate Dean of Partnership & Engagement to establish a vision, frame key issues, and set high-level strategies for packaging enterprise relationships for key employers. Individual will direct the work of the Communications Manager to ensure agreed-upon solutions are delivered on time, on budget and meets client and participant expectations.
Major responsibilities include developing a strategy for and managing outreach to corporate audiences, setting and managing significant revenue goals for customized content solutions, training/onboarding Talent Development Consultants to effectively promote and sell the university brand and resources, and driving results toward Talent Consultancy deliverables. S/he may manage a portfolio of clients directly and will serve as local manager of Marketing & Enrollment positions (Assistant Director of Admissions) to ensure alignment of field-recruitment activities for prospective students with other external corporate outreach efforts.
Position will serve as a member of the Charlotte campus leadership team (along with the Associate Dean of Partnerships & Engagement and Associate Dean Campus Operations) to champion opportunities with corporate clients and other external partners/organizations. Position plays a key role in developing Talent Consultancy and recruitment strategies to: 1) generate revenue 2) build the university brand and visibility within the corporate community (regionally, nationally, and globally), 3) promote research and experiential learning opportunities, and 4) position the university to achieve deep enterprise partnerships, including those that result in philanthropic donations.

• Masters degree in Business, Leadership, Education or related field required
• Doctorate in related field preferred
• 8-10 years in corporate or educational setting, with related experience
• Ability to interact well with all levels of the university, including senior executives, as well as external corporations, partners and vendors
• Demonstrated ability to influence key executives and stakeholders to support significant change
• Ability to balance and manage the needs of multiple constituencies, manage to deadlines and work well under pressure including delivering exceptional work under tight deadlines
• A proven self-starter with excellent management and organizational skills to manage individuals in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff across functional areas and manage corporate stakeholder expectations.
• Drive for results and previous sales background preferred
• Experience setting and managing contractors toward achieving deliverables
• Solid analytical skills - ability to generate, analyze, and synthesize large amounts of data
• Strong strategic planning skills as well as strategic implementation of action plans
• Demonstrated ability to develop metrics and manage outcomes toward goals
• Creative thinker open to new ideas and changing priorities within a fast-paced organization
• Ability to navigate roadblocks and provide smart alternate solutions while working independently with minimal direction
