The Budget Office is the principal arm of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations in the areas of financial planning and fiscal administration. In assistance to the Budget Director and the Business Officer the employee in this position is responsible for performing day-to-day tasks in execution of the financial program. The position is responsible for entering, reconciling and reporting on budget information to both internal and external constituents. This position will have significant duties within the overall operating, capital, and departmental budgets; primary responsibility for maintenance of position/benefits control and encumbrance on the Banner Finance system. The employee will perform analysis, prepare and submit necessary reports related to operational budget/position data on a regular basis. The person will have a role in Data Mart and Banner testing updates for the department.

In addition, this position will assist with special projects such as General Assembly requests, oversight of training systems, and report writing. The position may also perform various financial analyses with variance resolution, audits of program revenue and expenditures, interpret fiscal and general managerial policies, prepare and input budget entries and maintain essential office files and records in support of budget transactions. Under direction of the Business Officer, the person in this position is expected to work with moderate independence and tasks will require significant coordination and cooperation with other university departments. Work requires contact with officials within and outside the organization.The ideal candidate will have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or a closely related field. Previous experience in managing budgets of various complexities is preferred. Experience in using the Banner Finance system is highly desired.
