Job Summary The Director of Business Development is responsible for all aspects of non-degree executive education sales for custom and open enrollment programs developed and delivered by the Terry College of Business. Position involves engaging and cultivating relationships with individuals and corporate clients that lead to achieving established operational goals. Consulting with senior executives and key decision makers within business organizations, the director helps prospective clients identify and assess talent performance challenges and deficiencies, and coordinates developing instructional curricula that creates innovative learning experiences for companies and individuals to achieve desired performance and productivity goals and outcomes. The Director of Business Development facilitates growth of the unit's client base and business engagements by building awareness of the unit's programming and services, and expanding the existing client base regionally, nationally and, as opportunity presents, internationally. Primary responsibilities assigned to the position include: - Identifying and engaging prospective clients through business research and sales activities, including prospecting, cold calling, and networking with key influencers and decision makers; - Building new business accounts that lead to corporate engagement and professional development opportunities; - Developing and executing strategic and tactical plans for generating new business that results in achieving established revenue goals; - Analyzing client talent challenges to identify root causes and coordinate the design and delivery of learning-based solutions with other Executive Education staff; - Developing trusting, long-term relationships with executive decision makers that establish the college as the dedicated provider of learning and professional development; - Utilizing automated sales prospecting and cultivation systems, along with forecasting tools to manage and track business cultivation and sales engagement activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a field of business and 8 years of professional experience related to business development.
