English Department Assistant Professor in Contemporary Poetry and Poetics
Position Description: The English Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the field of contemporary poetry and poetics. We are particularly interested in candidates who are practicing poets, whose writing connects contemporary poetics to earlier periods of poetic invention, and whose work aligns well with resources in poetry/poetics at Penn (such as PennSound, Jacket2, and Kelly Writers House), reaching out to poetry communities beyond the University. We welcome applications from candidates with an established reputation as a poet and an emerging record as a scholar. PhD expected at time of appointment. The normal teaching load in our department is two courses per semester.
