Bachelor’s Degree. One year of full-time experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services at the college or university level working with undergraduates. Experience using basic computer applications such as the internet, email, calendar, and data entry in an office environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree. Additional years of experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services at the college or university level working with undergraduates. Work experience in a Higher Education/Academic environment. Highly proficient, professional experience in word processing, databases, spreadsheet management, electronic messaging and internet applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, etc...). Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administrative Services.

Primary Purpose: The Transfer Evaluation and Articulation Specialist serves as an important team member within Academic and Transfer Advising Services area with direct responsibility for transfer credit articulation and evaluation. Builds and maintains course equivalencies, evaluates general education courses, collaborates with faculty, and upholds the highest level of academic integrity and data accuracy. The Transfer Evaluation and Articulation Specialist provides the highest level of transfer related services to students, staff, and faculty. Incumbent must possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Determine course equivalencies for courses being transferred to the University by both new students and continuing students. Enter and monitor all transfer articulated data to ensure orientation, registration, pre-requisite screening, academic advising, and degree audit processes are supported and current.

Execute the transfer credit articulation and equivalency project. Build and maintain equivalents for courses offered at other colleges and universities. Provide support with the maintenance of live database.

Evaluate courses for general education requirements determining equivalents and attributes. Collaborate with faculty in evaluating major-specific courses.

Provide high quality transfer-related services, including preparing evaluations for new student orientation and registration using PeopleSoft.

Serve as a generalist in the Academic and Transfer Advising Office providing high quality, proactive advising. Students will be advised regarding SBC, upper-division and other graduation requirements.

Evaluate courses at new student orientation to enable appropriate course selection. Participate in opening weekend programs as well as those offered by Academic and Transfer Advising Services.

Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. Occasional weekend hours will be required.
