Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)
Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent. Experience in protein expression, structural biology and protein kinases. Must have experience in conducting structural biology research projects on protein kinases and kinase inhibitors. First author publication(s) in structural biology in peer-reviewed journals. Training undergraduate and master-level students in structural biology and biochemistry.
PhD in Biochemistry. Additional years of experience in protein expression, structural biology and protein kinases. Hands-on experience in cloning, purification, crystallization and structure determination of cancer related protein kinases and kinase-drug co-complexes. Working experience with bacterial, insect and mammalian protein expression systems.
Brief description of duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will directly assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Pharmacological Sciences in conducting and analyzing structural studies of protein tyrosine kinases for sponsored research funded by NIH. The incumbent must have a high degree of integrity, organization and excellent communications kills. The incumbent must be able to conduct research projects and design experiments independently. Supervision and on-the-job training will be provided in specific methods and techniques. The incumbent will have to participate in manuscript writing for publication and train new personnel when necessary.
- Under the direction of the principal investigator, design and conduct structural studies on protein tyrosine kinases.
- Data analysis and participate in manuscript writing for publication.
