The University of Colorado Boulder College of Music seeks a director of Vocal Pedagogy for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position as an Assistant or an Associate Professor of Voice starting August 20, 2018.

What your key responsibilities will be:

This position is responsible for leadership of the Vocal Pedagogy Program, to include: teaching/oversight of undergraduate and graduate level courses in Vocal Pedagogy, supervision of graduate teaching assistants, guiding graduate pedagogy projects and theses, and teaching applied voice lessons. The successful candidate will maintain an active national/international performing and/or scholarly career; serve on graduate committees; advise students in curricular matters and career development opportunities; and participate in College, University, and professional service activities, including student recruitment.

The voice department takes pride in its nationally recognized pedagogy program, open studio policy, and faculty collegiality. The voice faculty includes nine full-time members, including an opera director, opera music director, two vocal coaches, and supports approximately 30 graduate and 65 undergraduate voice majors. The Eklund Opera Program presents three full productions during the academic year and a summer program of new opera workshops, called CUNOW.

Qualifications

  • An earned Doctorate in Voice Performance/Pedagogy
  • Significant teaching experience at the college level
  • Maintenance of an active scholarly/performing career
