Nature of Work:

Indicate type of research being performed and overall goal of study/research

In order to maximize the potential for supporting multiple research studies, the Pediatric Liver Center aims to create and maintain a patient data registry and biobank. The major functions of the Professional Clinical Research Assistant will be to work directly with Cara Mack, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, Medical Director of the Pediatric Liver Center, in: i) generating and maintaining a Pediatric Liver Center Data Registry to be used for quality improvement and research studies, ii) generating and maintaining a Pediatric Liver Center Biobank of blood, serum, tissue and stool to be used for research studies, iii) assist in regulatory support of Pediatric Liver Center research studies that utilize the Data Registry and/or Biobank and iv) other responsibilities related to clinical research and trials.

Professional Field:

The Pediatric Liver Center includes 6 transplant hepatologists actively engaged in clinical and translational research studies, performing cutting edge research in the areas of pathogenesis, biomarkers of disease and treatment of pediatric liver diseases.

Example of Work:

  • Generating and maintaining a data registry
  • Generating and maintaining a Pediatric Liver Center Biobank of blood, serum, tissue and stool
  • Assist in regulatory support of Pediatric Liver Center research studies that utilize the Data Registry and/or Biobank.
  • Maintain on-line access to current research protocols and consent forms


PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:



The hiring salary for this position is $40,000 and is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in scientific field

Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous clinical research experience
  • Previous work in processing blood or tissue samples
  • Experience with RedCap software
