The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Program Assistant I with the Colorado Consortium for the Prevention of Prescription Drug Abuse. The mission of the Consortium is to reduce the abuse and misuse of prescription drugs in the State of Colorado through improvements in education, public outreach, research, safe disposal, and treatment. By identifying alignment among many partner organizations, from the public and private sectors, and sharing resources we are able to impact the problem in a meaningful way. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position will include, but are not limited to: assisting in planning and delivery of programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Consortium; with the guidance of the Consortium Director and Operations Manager, monitoring program activities to ensure expenditures are within contract guidelines; working with work group co-chairs and consultants to implement funded projects (public awareness/outreach campaigns; safe medication disposal programs; data collection; data dashboard updating; etc.); attending all work group meetings of the Consortium, providing liaison to the Director and the Coordinating Committee to ensure effective and efficient program delivery; as needed, participating in external coalitions to facilitate mobilization and build and expand program capacity; working with other Consortium staff to streamline work flow and program related activities; collaborating with student volunteers as needed; and performing other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

- Candidates must have four years of general administrative service experience
- College, university or non-correspondence business school course work may substitute on a year- for-year basis for the general experience but not for the specific experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university degree in education, pharmacy, public health administration, business or closely related field;
- Prior training and/or administrative experience in substance abuse prevention;
- Experience working in complex systems (e.g., federal or state agencies, or interagency cooperatives) are referred.
