Department Overview
The Orientation and Transition Programs office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator II to join our team. The office of Orientation and Transition Programs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs and provides new students, continuing students, and family members with the tools necessary to make a smooth transition to UNT and toward graduation. Specifically, the position will provide administrative support to an office that serves more than 12,000 new students and family members annually.

Job Description
The Student Affairs Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Administrative Coordinator II to join our team.

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to a fast-paced department, by way of budget tracking and reporting, purchasing, travel coordination, correspondence, data compilation, reporting, scheduling, and property control. The Administrative Coordinator II assists with the administrative and budgetary functions related Orientation and Transition Programs, as well as lower levels of support with the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Student Veteran Services. The individual must resolve most questions; referring only the most complex issues to higher levels. This position reports to the Director of Orientation and Transition Programs.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for budgetary oversight of revenues and expenditures exceeding $1.6 million and of various types (Student Service Fee, endowments, state, gift, and revenue accounts).
* Routinely monitors registrations for orientation programs, Eagle Camp, Family Weekend, and the Parent Association to ensure the accurate and timely transfer of revenue.
* Assists the Director with orientation sponsorship agreements and fundraising efforts for the Parent Association.
* Serves as the office liaison with financial aid to complete annual work study agreements and process departmental scholarships.
* Completes purchasing requisitions and processes event contracts for the department.
* Provides interpretations of policies and procedures related to travel, employment, and purchasing for departmental staff.
* Oversees departmental inventory of supplies and equipment and completes annual asset report.
* Responsible for the accurate maintenance of budgets and fiscal matters for multiple state, local, and revenue accounts.
* Creates departmental reports as requested by the Director.
* Prepares budget reports monthly and as requested.
* Serves as the e-Verify coordinator for Orientation and Transition Programs, Student Activities, Student Veteran Services, and the Emerald Eagle Scholars program.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree and four years of office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

* Previous experience at an institution of higher education.
* Previous experience working with large budgets.
* Ability to be flexible, calm, and multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
* Marked ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, faculty, and staff.
* Ability to tactfully handle customer service situations.
* Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
