Position Summary

We are seeking a photography assistant to assist in coordinating photography services activities, including: serving as a secondary photographer (as needed), scheduling photo assignments, archiving images, cataloging images, maintain the digital image asset system, and scheduling assets for photo and video assignments.

In addition, the photography assistant will use digital still cameras and capture images that reflect the full range of activities at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

60% of the position is dedicated to assisting in photgraphy services activities:

Maintain photo studio's digital assignment calendar
Schedules assets, locations and personnel for photo assignments
Assist clients with photo requests
Catalog digital image assets
Process RAW photo files from freelance photographers
Working with outside vendor, maintain and troubleshoot the University Communications digital assets management system
Coordinate student-worker time sheets

The remaining 40% of the position is dedicated to digital still photography:

Captures, edits, delivers and archives photography assignments, under supervision as necessary
Provides post production work still images for digital publication.
Assist Photographer and videographer with location lighting and staging
Maintains broad knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Photobites Photo Mechanic.

Minimum Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications

An associates degree in communications, photojournalism or a related field.

Proficiency in Macintosh and PC platforms.

At least one year of professional still photography experience.

Demonstrated experience in use of Adobe Creative Suite products, Photoshop and Lightroom.

Self-starter with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Alternate Option
