6427 Assistant Coordinator (SSP IB), Compact for Success

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position (with the possibility of reappointment/permanency) anticipated to end on or before 06/30/2018. This position has a maximum three (3) year duration. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under direct supervision of the Director for Compact for Success and Collaborative Programs, the incumbent will assist with the coordination of various student services, outreach, retention, and/or other programs as assigned. The incumbent will also provide support and assistance to student program participants; examples of such programs are the Compact for Success, Price Community Scholars, Kids to College, Students with Academic Goals (SWAG).

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,470 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,470 - $4,908 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Possession of knowledge and abilities related to equivalent of one year experience in early college outreach or programs related to increasing college access. Equivalent amounts of graduate level job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job related field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Knowledge and ability to work with multicultural students and organizations served by Student Services.
Experience working with historically low-income and educationally disadvantaged students.
Experience with outreach presentations on the topic of college access to parents, students, and/or community groups.
Experience with middle school and high school aged populations in underserved communities.
Ability to work evenings/weekends.
Knowledge of environmental risk factors impeding college access in underserved communities.
Knowledge of and/or experience with college level learning communities.
Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of and/or experience with SDSU’s Compact for Success & Collaborative Programs
