Pace University, a private, comprehensive New York institution of higher education founded in 1906, seeks an innovative and strategic leader to serve as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost). The next Provost will join the University’s new president, Marvin Krislov, as the institution leverages Pace’s distinctive mix of professional and liberal arts education to bolster its national and international visibility and reputation.

Since its founding, Pace University has been known for providing relevant, accessible, practical, and intellectual educational opportunities to students from all backgrounds. Beginning as a business school, Pace in more recent decades has broadened its academic offerings and research activities to encompass six vibrant colleges and schools while maintaining its focus on instructing and preparing students for lives of personal and professional success. Its emphasis on a blend of classroom and experiential learning, supported by close attention to student outcomes and success, affords countless opportunities for students to apply theory to practice—and is supported by the largest co-op and internship program in the New York metropolitan area.

Pace has campuses in New York City and Westchester County, which draw on the distinctive assets in each location—a vibrant urban setting and an expansive college campus with athletic fields and facilities. Over 1,300 full- and part-time faculty provide instruction in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs to 13,245 students in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, Lubin School of Business, Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, School of Education, College of Health Professions, and Elisabeth Haub School of Law.

This is an opportune moment for Pace. The University is on a remarkable trajectory—with growing student interest and admissions applications, even more academically gifted students, increased student and faculty diversity, and ambitious capital construction projects. At a time when families are keenly focused on value and access in higher education, Pace has positioned itself very well in the extremely competitive higher education market. In 2017 the University was ranked #2 in the nation by the Equality of Opportunity Project for upward income mobility, and the New York Times listed Pace as #7 out of 578 selective private colleges for the highest overall mobility index.
