Tenure track Assistant Professor position in composition/rhetoric

Job description

The English Department invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in composition/rhetoric.  The successful candidate will have a scholarly background in digital rhetoric and professional writing.  Strength in qualitative research methods and visual literacy are preferred; experience with online instruction desired but not necessary.  We seek a productive scholar and an excellent teacher. The successful candidate will periodically take on administrative responsibilities.

Candidates must have earned the PhD in English, Writing Studies, Composition/Rhetoric or a closely related field by August 2018.  Responsibilities include teaching a 2/2 load with a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses as well as advising in the composition/rhetoric graduate program.  The application should include a cover letter, CV, transcripts, 3 letters of recommendation, and a writing sample of under 30 pages, submitted by November 1, 2017.  Interviews will be conducted at the MLA Convention in January.
