Assistant Professor (tenure-track)
The Department of Mathematics at Tufts University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computational Data Analysis, to begin July 1, 2018.
Applicants must hold a doctorate in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or a related field, by the beginning of the appointment, must have an active research program, show promise of outstanding research, and exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who show potential for strong interaction with both mathematicians and researchers in applications areas.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help create degree programs in data analysis, and participate in the start-up phase of Tufts University's embryonic Data-Intensive Studies Center (DISC). The ability and inclination to engage in these activities will be among the selection criteria.
