Assistant Professor ~ Psychology
The Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2018. The department seeks candidates committed to teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts curricula and professional programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching courses in Clinical/Counseling and Introduction to Psychology. Welcome areas of interest might include Healthcare Disparities, Community Mental Health, Developmental Psychopathology, or Applied Neuropsychology. Opportunities may also exist to contribute to the graduate program in Higher Education Student Affairs Administration, and to teach our Statistics & Methods sequence.
A Ph.D. is preferred (ABD Considered) and experience in teaching is preferred, as is a record of research or interest regarding inclusion, diversity or marginalization. Successful candidate should possess: demonstrated ability to teach courses in Clinical Counseling and related areas; ability to engage undergraduates in research; ability to maintain and sustain an ongoing program of research. The candidate must be able to teach Introduction to Psychology.
Responsibilities include teaching 3 – 4 courses per semester, advising, involvement in the college community, and scholarly activity. Candidates should be committed to excellence in undergraduate education and to collaborative involvement of students in a research program.
