Lecturer in Japanese Cinema

The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine seeks a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer to teach one course on Japanese Cinema in Winter Quarter 2018.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Film & Media Studies or a related field. The ideal candidate will be able to introduce students to the study and analysis of Japanese cinema from historical, theoretical, political, and formal perspectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching undergraduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The current salary rate per course is $6,675.25, paid over three months (based on an annual salary of $53,402). Service dates are January 3, 2018 through March 23, 2018, and the pay period is January 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018.
