The University of Virginia, Department of Medicine, Infectious Disease and International Health Division is looking to hire a hourly wage employee for a position that will focus on basic research in innate immunity.
The laboratory technician will help examine the influence of commensal bacteria, infections and host factors on the outcome of intestinal and lung diseases.
Responsibilities will include experiment execution, data analysis and write-up which will be conducted under the direction and training of the primary supervisor. Techniques will include mouse husbandry and model experiments, anerobic bacteria and parasite culture, DNA/RNA extraction, QPCR, ELISAs, Flow Cytometry, CFU assays and other techniques needed to support the project as it develops.
