Required Qualifications:(As Evidenced by an attached resume)

Associate's degree. Two (2) years of full time research experience directly related to a project/program in a Laboratory environment. Competence in research activities including data management and performing standard lab techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology or another related field. One year or more experience in a life sciences or chemistry research laboratory. Experience performing standard biochemical lab experiments (i.e., ELISA assays, immunoblots/gel electrophoresis, PCR, restriction digests and ligations, and bacterial gene transformation). Relevant work experience and knowledge of mycobacteriology, microbiology, chemistry, mass spectrometry, and/or molecular and cell biology.

Brief Description of duties:

Working under general supervision, incumbent will perform a variety of routine and technically-skilled tasks to support and directly assist a research project in the lab. The successful candidate will assist in research projects and help maintain lab inventory and equipment. Incumbent must possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Conduct research, under the guidance of PI, gathering data using various methods.
  • Technical support for the preparation of starting reagents
  • Lab maintenance including assisting with ordering supplies and equipment to keep the lab inventory well stocked; sterilizing glassware and media preparation
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings presenting research data.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.
