Read and evaluate freshman applications to Princeton University.
Provide comprehensive analysis of information/credentials submitted to the University by applicants seeking admission. Analyze applicants' academic and non-academic achievements within the context of school, geographic and personal background. Interpret and apply institutional policies and goals.
Readers are expected to work 30 hours per week, as needed, during the months of November, December, January, February and March.
Other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have a background in secondary or higher education and knowledge of issues in higher education. Experience in a selective admissions office is a plus. Familiarity with highly selective university communities is helpful.
Bachelor's degree is required. Must have exceptionally strong writing and analytical skills. Well-developed computer skills and the demonstrated ability to adapt to new software programs are crucial; keyboard skills are required. Willingness to be part of a team and ability to work independently are essential.
Must have the ability to exercise discerning and sound judgment while working collegially in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. Tact, diplomacy and discretion are highly valued. Maintaining confidentiality is paramount.
Although readers will be working from their homes, participation in on-campus comprehensive training sessions in autumn is mandatory. In addition, there will be a mandatory two-hour, on-campus meeting every two to three weeks throughout the period of employment.
A secure, password-protected, high-speed internet connection that meets our Office of Information Technology expectations is required.
