PROFESSOR of the PRACTICE of ADVERTISING, ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT, College of Communication (9844/i0717)
Boston University’s College of Communication (COM) invites applications for a non-tenured Professor of the Practice of Advertising, Account Management. This position serves our outstanding program in advertising, with a focus on account management and advertising strategy. Duties will include teaching courses in account management, advertising and brand strategy, and in other areas of COM’s curriculum as suited to the candidate’s profile. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor both undergraduate and graduate students and to establish and maintain network ties in the advertising industry. This is a position for an industry leader of international repute, with the ability and drive to help today’s students be successful in a changing industry.
Established in 1947, the College of Communication (COM) at Boston University is a large college with three departments: Mass Communication, Advertising & Public Relations; Journalism; and Film & Television. COM’s student population exceeds 2,200 annually, including undergraduates, graduate, and PhDs. The College integrates a strong liberal arts core with a heavy focus on preparing students for careers as communication professionals. A successful candidate will have a BA/BS in Communication, business or a related area, with significant professional experience in the advertising industry in a senior position in account management. An MS/MA or MBA is preferred. Also preferred are candidates with the ability to teach marketing in both the traditional and new media/digital areas.
