Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Health Sciences. The position will start in fall 2018. We are looking for a colleague who will help us to continue building on the College’s tradition of excellence.
Tenure-track faculty at Boston University are expected to teach, carry out independent research, and participate in service. The successful candidate will have a research program that has potential for ongoing support by external funding. Specialization within the field of global health is open, and areas of particular interest could include one or more of the following: climate, environment, and health; data science, involving the use of quantitative methods to analyze large datasets; health disparities; and/or vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will have a well-defined vision of their research goals and have demonstrated success with multi-disciplinary teams.
The Department of Health Sciences is part of a vibrant Boston University academic and research community that includes 17 schools and colleges across the Charles River and Medical campuses, including Boston University’s renowned School of Public Health as well as many other highly regarded medical and educational institutions in the Boston area that allow for collaborative and interdisciplinary activities. - Earned research doctoral degree (PhD, ScD or equivalent in any public health field, completed at the time of application)
- Post-doctoral experience (preferred)
- Clear potential for an externally funded research program
- Peer-reviewed journal publications
- Teaching experience at the college/university level, preferably with undergraduate students
