The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Department of Biology teaches biological concepts and research methods to biology and medical technology majors and prepares them for professional careers and/or advanced study. We also introduce non-biology majors to basic biological knowledge and its applications to our society. We prepare graduate students for professional careers and/or further graduate study. By involving undergraduate and graduate students in research, we increase society's knowledge of living organisms and their environments and we enhance our students' technical and analytical skills so that they can contribute meaningfully to an increasingly technological society. We apply our skills by serving the University, our profession, and the larger community.
The Department of Biology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neurobiology and/or Neurotoxicology. We seek an outstanding individual who will develop a productive, externally funded research program and contribute to student instruction at all levels. Full participation is expected in our Biology undergraduate curriculum and Master program, and our broadly defined doctoral program in Environmental Health Science, which is directed at understanding environmental problems that directly or indirectly affect human health and well-being from the global to the molecular levels. The successful applicant will develop elective courses in Neurobiology or related fields and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Potential synergies with faculty in our and other departments are desirable. Candidates must hold or anticipate a Doctorate in Biology or a related discipline when starting the position on August 1, 2018.

Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
