POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Virtual College Marketing Manager develops, implements, and evaluates a strategic marketing plan that includes paid advertising, social media communications, SEO enhancement, and website updates. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field from an accredited, four-year college or university
  • Two years of online marketing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in measuring and reporting marketing results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Knowledge of FHSU mission, goals, policies, procedures, and academic programs
  • Higher Education marketing experience
  • MBA/MS/MA in marketing or related field
  • Mobile marketing experience
  • Creative ability – both written and visual
  • Proven ability to negotiate with vendors
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly adjust to shifting needs and priorities, evaluate technologies, identify trends and insights, and make recommendations to management
  • Capable of working in a team setting and ability to work independently
  • Intense desire to learn new skills and latest marketing trends
  • Entrepreneurial mindset

  • Create, execute, and assess effectiveness of annual marketing plan
  • Generate creative ideas and content for marketing efforts
  • Make media buys such as Facebook, Digital Display ads, print, and email blasts
  • Enhance SEO on the Virtual College website
  • Recruit students with marketing and in person
  • Coordinate outreach efforts with the Southwest Kansas Office
  • Work closely with University Relations and Marketing to coordinate efforts for on-campus and off-campus marketing
  • Monitor the Virtual College social media platforms for questions and comments and respond accordingly
  • Represent the Virtual College at appropriate meetings, committees, groups, and activities
  • Supervise activities of Articulation Coordinator
  • Participate in job related professional organizations
